Nearest pub to where we were stopping. A very friendly local with a good range of beers.

Nice enough pub which kind of has a curve to it that follows the alignment of the street. let down by poor quality ale though - the 3 piers 'Endeavour' was pretty rank. left it and went elsewhere.

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this backstreet boozer, not far from the Park Street Interchange, actually was. Plenty of people seemed to know about it and it seems popular with football fans on route to the match. All seemed fairly friendly. Beers on were Arbor Triple Hop Series, Mordue IPA, Sonnet 43 Bourbon Milk Stout, Marble Chocolate Marble & Blueball Spank. Thistly Cross Original was the cider. Unable to choose between the cider, the milk stout and the Marble beer, I tried to order 2 halves. Surprisingly they don't serve halves! I've never come across this in a pub before. The barman informed me that they did serve thirds and two thirds glasses. Problem solves. 3 thirds then please! These were served on a paddle, which seemed to intrigue some of the locals. There is a pizza oven located to the side of the bar too, in case you get peckish. The pizzas looked good. Well worth the effort to wander out of the town centre to. I have a feeling we will be back.

been in there a few times when my team played in Sunderland. Had a great jukebox and a bit of a studenty feel with a few punk chicks in there which I thought was pretty cool for Sunderland

The Ivy House, the Ivy House....what can you say. Best bar staff in Sunderland, cheap beer and great for home and away supporters on match days (certain teams excluded!)Bit smoky sometimes and always fairly busy and a cracking atmosphere!

10/10 Great Pub. Great on Match Days, a little quiet during the day though but that's ok if your after a quiet pint. The Prices are good and the beer is great! Good pool table they used to have a fantasic juke box which has now been changed. Locals can be rough but always friendly.

Seen a handful of decent bands there and the quiz on a Wednesday is always a treat good place to start or end the night local favourite with us students guaranteed a good night, good crack with even the chance of some talent spotting.

An old favorite of mine from my uni days in Sunderland. Always a good atmosphere

if you're a student fantastic, if you want your clothes to stink of smoke brilliant, if you want decent beer excellent.

It's the kind of place that even though you probably drank in there when you were barely legal age, the new lot look at you as if you were entering the slaughtered lamb (even though they were probably still on milk all those years ago).

No trouble, ok if you want something different - best time to visit is during the day, when the students are still in bed.

Excellent pub, good jukebox, pool tables, nudgies, and the best looking bar staff in the North East
