Fairly quiet cosy locals' pub, does Bass, Youngs Bitter, a couple of others.

Visited a few years ago. Strangely eerie as I remember, oh wait thats Godalming as a whole. I'm right it is haunted.

Di keeps the best pint of Youngs Ordinary I have ever had the pleasure to drink.

Very much a locals pub, but the IPA was good, much better than the Star.

This pub is the best traditional pub in town: a real, old, with a known history going back yonks. I started going there when I arrived back in Surrey (long story) in November 1987, and met so many people there, who are still around. Di, the landlady of many a year and well before my coming down here, is so nice, as are all her staff. The food is excellent, - and as for the open fires - what can I say! If you feel that one of the fires needs attention, just use the poker, and chuck another log or lump of coal on it - they are kept nearby. It is also dog friendly, as Di has loads!

Lovely pub

Not the most glamorous of pubs, but ok for a quiet drink

Very much seems to be a place where locals tend to visit. Quite a dry atmosphere really, though there are worse place in Godalming.

Nice pub with friendly locals. Good selection of beers and lagers and the place is incredibly well run. Makes a change from the awful Wetherspoon and the Slug and Lettuce! Whoever gave this place a measly 4/10 does not what makes a decent pub. Also this place can get very busy for food at lunchtimes.

Friendly staff and clientelle, traditional two bar pub which used to have a games room upstairs but is now not accessible.

Open since the 18th century, it ws here in 1817 that local George Chennell drank his last before going off with William Chalcraft to murder his father and housekeeper. Chennell and Chalcraft were later hung and the timber from the gallows used to repair the nearby Parish Church.

Small, friendly pub. Good beer (Greene King IPA amongst others), and good food at lunchtime.
