Not changed much since last visit - it's okay but only a couple of ales on. They had a Victoria brew from Tring that was nothing special.

Wasn't a great choice of ale and all from major brewers. Was okay but not the ale destination some seem to think it is.

A friendly boozer with a rotating selection of ale. Food good and staff cheery. A bit of a gem in my view.

Reasonable real ale pub near Police Station in Dunstable, single bar, football shown. Beer quality reasonable. Can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, full of locals, which can be a bit awkward when trying to get a table.

Popped in to sample some ales for their August Bank Holiday beerfest after a longish absence. Still mostly the same, very friendly pub and some very good beers in the beer festival.

Now showing footie again (Italian Sky - don't need to listen anyway and more attractive presenters).

Staff and customers very friendly.

They normally favour the Tring brewery beers (if that is your fancy) but do have guests otherwise. Probably nosed back in front of The Globe overall in my opinion.

A strange visit to Dunstable to help my parents move from a three-bedroomed house in Harrow to a one-bedroom flat in Dunstable. Couldn't access beerintheevening so I had to take a punt on a town pub to watch the end of season football. My partner and I took a walk just out of the town and found a pub near the police station - a good omen or not? It said it was a freehouse, but that could mean anything these days...stepped in, they were showing the end of season football and noticed four localish ales - I thought "great"...but it got better, we had an amazing roast and desert.....the locals were friendly, the staff were friendly...clean, homely, tidy pub.......excellent. Thankyou.

Dave & Val have changed things since last postings. More of the Globe ex-regulars drinking here now and recent CAMRA AGM held here. Can get really busy at times especially for the well loved sunday roasts and sports events. Real ales i,ve tasted on a once or twice a week basis have been good. Has just about every base covered and always a warm welcome.

Tring Victoria Ale (permanent offering, cant remember which Tring beer is re-badged), Northumberland Summer Gold, Holdens Golden Glow, and Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted, the latter was this weeks special at 2.50, Tring 2.70. Single-roomed L-shape pub, wood tables, oddly-covered banquettes (shiny fabric?), leatherette wood stools, but it all somehow works a great local atmosphere noticeable from the moment you enter, friendly welcome at the bar, and the board above indicates a community pub with mention of darts/doms/golf society/greyhound syndicate/cricket/bowling, a real hub, and high cabinet opp bar displays lots of trophies. The dartboard is in the front area, quite tight to a r/h wall, so left-handers may struggle! Plasma on rear wall of bar area (dk about Sky), then outside rear area is wooden fenced, small-block paving, with surrounding potted shrubs & flowers, a big shed beyond (to house the 4 fests per year?), also a bricked/wood-roofed bbq corner. Picnic set with jumbrella, meshed garden chairs at round table, heatlamps. Very good, dont miss this one if in Dunstable.

A decent pub with a good selection of real ales and four beer festivals a year. Not even in the same league as The Globe, a few minutes' walk away, but handy if you're in the area and does good food. Crunchysaviour hit the nail on the head regarding untapped potential.

The Victoria is a small one bar pub, just off the town centre. There is a atmosphere,Heavily into traditional pub games and sports.can get very busy due to great food.beer prices just over local prices has local compertion from globe when comes to beer globe wins for me.
has beer festivals dont like waiting at the bar to buy a ticket then going outside and queing for a pint in all weathers then trying to find your company again in the main bar.

It is, indeed, time for the Vic to buck up its ideas. It's got an interesting layout beyond the main bar, and thus a lot of unrealised potential. It's got ales and darts. It's quite good, in fact. But it's not great.

David Watt's isn't the charming fellow he was cracked up to be eh?
Anyway, unlike him I love real ale (but haven't got a beard and only occassionally see the need to wear a jumper), so am glad that The Victoria now has competition from The Globe. That's ten minutes walk away, and well worth the stroll.
Time for the Vic to buck up its ideas.

This place is terrible and is more suited to an episode of "The League of Gentlemen" than anything else. It's a 'local pub for local people' who all stare at you when you walk in the door. As far as real ales go, i wouldn't have a clue as they all taste like s**te anyway and is only for jumper wearing beard growers.
No decent crumpet whatsoever.
Be warned, they have banjo music on the jukebox...

Top pub, good rotation of ales, well kept, excellent beer festivals. Staff very good, attentive and friendly. Food good value honest pub grub.

Puts one in mind of The Fall's 80's cover of the song 'Victoria', rather than The Kinks original; what it lacks in artistic integrity, is made up for in rumbustious interpretation. Pubs not bad either... the Tring beers are usually bland, but the guests are usually good.

Definitely the best pub to go to, if you happen to be stuck in Dunny. Good beers, and a cosy bar which can get packed... there is a games room round the back but, in almost absolute contrast to the bar, its big and cold and lifeless.

The Victoria is a small one bar pub, just off the town centre. There is a friendly atmosphere, which is emphasized by local trade. Heavily into traditional pub games and sports.

It's a pub as it should be, with an excellent range of Real Ales with, I think, Courages as the staple. Their beer festivals are locally famous!!
