It's been under new ownership since January 2011 and has been renovated whilst retaining a pleasant country pub atmosphere. I visted recently, having given prior notice, with a group of middle aged walkers and we found it very welcoming. Food was reasonably priced and served promptly and the range of Fullers beers was in good condition.

We popped into this lovely pub last night as we had heard it was under new owners. We were welcomed by new very friendly bar staff that were happy to help. Sat on the sofas next to a log fire while we had a drink and looked at the new menu. Looked very nice and will have to pop back very soon to try the game cassarole!

Nice place, very friendly staff, quite roomy with a garden as well. Food good and reasonably priced. London Pride, Gales HSB and something called "Seafarer's ale" (3.4%) on which was very nice indeed.

Just been for lunch there about 2 hours ago. I drank 2 pints of London Pride and ate the Pork Shezuan. In the last 5 minutes I've just had one of the worse and most painful cases of the the need to visit the toilet that I've had in my life. Beer tasted fine. I have only eaten porridge otherwise in the last 24 hours.
You can probably understand that I will not be visiting again.

Madam and I visited at lunchtime today. The chill (weather and economy) meant we started with the place to ourselves, but nevertheless the central heating was well on, and there was a fine wood fire getting going. The HSB was excellent; but what's happened to ESB? I hardly ever see it nowadays. Food (jacket spud and a prawn baguette) was very acceptable. We shall certainluy go again.

We popped into this pub tonight based purely on the review from dumpdigger. They were right. We walked into the pub to a very friendly greeting, and then sat down in the restaurant. Its a Fullers pub with 4 of their brews on draft, the London Pride was very nice. We then had one of the nicest pub meals and experiences we've had in months. Very impressed and thoroughly recommended.

This pub has been under new ownership since the summer of 2008. Their meals are brilliant - and served up on hot plates. Would thoroughly recommend eating there. The only downside is that the bar prices are a bit on the high side.

Our group of walkers were virtually the only customers on a Sunday lunchtime... Times must be hard. Good food and Fullers beers.

A sign outside says pub of the year 2007 but i've not been in, tried a google search but nothing. Don't know how a pub becomes a pub of the year?

Ate at this pub last night. The place was virtually deserted but the food and service was excellent. There were five real ales available (HSB, Butser, London Pride, Chiswick and Lancaster Bomber). The landlord was very friendly and was wearing a beautiful loud shirt (well, I like that sort of thing). The only thing I can fault them on is that they don't take American Express, but that's a minor issue. Worth paying a visit.
