This pub is completely different inside from how it appears outside - sadly! Ok for one drink and the jukebox was good but didn't really do it for me. One of those places you go and feel you have to have a drink because you are there but drink up quickly and leave!

Back here two years on from my previous post.
dwill's post of 10 December sums it up!
What a shame!

Was a really good local, 2 years and 4 landlords ago. Now caters for the all day lager drinkers.

Three Wadworth real ales on offer all the time - Strong In The Arm, 6X, Henry's IPA, and a 4th seasonal real ale currently Swordfish.
Guest real ale programme commences January 2011 so a weekly change of guest ale will be on offer.
Live music every Saturday. Sunday lunches served 12 till 3pm.

How things have changed in the couple of years since my last visit. Not as many ales, nowhere near as friendly. Went in twice for the benefit of the doubt. Wont bother again.

While I was on a weekend break in Tewkesbury my partner & I popped into the Berkeley for a Sunday special roast dinner which cost an amazing £6pp including a drink! We sat in the small room at the back of the pub which can be accesed via the side alley. You could have beef, pork or lamb. The service with a smile from the young lady behind the bar was prompt & efficient & in no time the meal was on the table served piping hot.The chef also made an apperance & asked if we required more gravy. The lamb was tender served with roast potatoes,a massive home cooked yorkshire pudding plus a separate dish containing SEVEN cooked vegetables The meal was outstanding & absoluteley delicious. The chef & barmaid/waitress are a credit to the Berkeley & the Sunday Roast is highly recommended.

Wadworths have recently put in a new couple to manage it and they look like they have the experience to turn it round and they seem as though their hearts are in it too. As an example of the improvement, a few weeks ago there was only one real ale left on and we were told there wouldn't be any more till the next delivery. This week they ran out of JCB and the landlord went off and fetched a new barrel. So there is hope for the Berkeley !

Visited this Pub on Good Friday. It was dead!
This used to be an excellent traditional pub with good, well kept beers and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the long standing landlord left last year and then a Wetherspoons opened opposite selling beer at half the price.
The pub is currently being run by short term management companies who have little interest in the place.
Wadworths are looking for tenants but so far without success. Let's hope they find the right people, otherwise I fear another traditional pub will bite the dust.

Very friendly local. 3 Wadsworths beers on and also a guest, currently the excellent Hobgoblin. Lunchtime food looked good on the menu but didnt try it.

Popped in for a couple of pints at lunchtime a few weeks ago. Nice little two roomed local with basic food and wide range of Wadworths beers. Friendly local on main street.

After a spell with a landlord the locals didn’t get on with, the Berkeley has changed hands again and is back to its old self. There are still no guest ales, but five from Wadworths. The lunchtime-only food is probably even more downmarket, but very cheap.
|
Three Wadworth's beers plus two ever-changing guest ales in the back bar. Although a locals' pub, very welcoming to visitors, and much more pleasant now smoking is banned. Standard but good quality pub food though you can't rely on it being available - try The Bell for more upmarket eating. PS finding mild in Gloucestershire is almost impossible - though Wadworth have been test brewing one. The Boat at Ashleworth is a possibility for mild.

Best pub in Tewkesbury without doubt! No TV, no SKY, no Jukebox. Superlative. Fantastic range of guest beers, and food when served is magnificent. The wines indeed are varied and the prices sensible. Incredibly good service.

15th century inn, tudor style, timber beamed. Wadworth brewery owned. Food available at certain times. Good value. Cask ales : wadworth 6X & JCB, henry’s IPA + guests All very well-kept.
|
Probably the best pub in Tewkesbury for its selection of ales, I'll give them a ring next time I'm visiting the area to see if they have a MILD otherwise I'll go to another town. Mild in May doesn't mean a thing down here so on the 3rd May no MILD had to walk out.

Excellent, convivial, historic, town centre pub. Range of Wadworths ales well kept by knowledgeable Landlord ( taste before you buy if you want!), plus better than usual selection of wines. Terrific value Sunday roast. Highly recommended.
