The first thing you notice about this pub is the number of TVs. The Captain counted 15 in total, including little ones in snugs and huge big screens.
The second thing you notice is the student element. They were all very subdued and quiet , perhaps mourning being back from Christmas. The majority sat in silence nursing half pints of lager; ignoring their friends and fiddling with their phones.
The pub has some interesting touches, their is a free computer station to play games on plus air hockey and pool.
Only two beers on. Boring selection in Hobgoblin and Doom Bar; but the Doom Bar was in excellent form. I was surprised, especially considering the spotty mid-pubescent that was serving me.
Maybe the Captain should be less judgmental about students in future, then again..... 7/10.

Alright little pub, pretty studenty but drinks are cheap. Food is good value and it has a small beer garden.

Called in while staying at nearby hotel: found it clean, with friendly staff but no real beer [real cider though, as befits its role as a student pub]. Got REALLY busy when the football was on, but at the final whistle it was is if they were all being sucked out through the doors. Food excellent and good value, and despite the huge numbers of students they were mostly polite and well mannered and didn't make our group of four fogeys [we must have increased the average age by ten years] feel out of place. A good find in a city that doesn't have much to offer in the way of decent pubs.

Outside of the main city centre this is definitely a student focussed pub. Despite that, It serves great food dduring the day, and there are older clientelle who visit as well (if its not a student only night - not advertised if this ever happens - so don't set off on a large trek...). If you want life, youth, and customers who have a futrure ahead of them, give this place a try.

WELCOME TO SCREAM. the aardvark being a part of the scream community has created in this pub a haven to all students and like minded people looking for a funky and fun home from home without the pretenciousness of most pubs.very chilled during the day, a perfect place to wind down the spare hours livening up in the evening to become the meeting place of choice pre-club...or bed. with constant promos on drinks and food and extra student discount with a yellowcard the value is superb.its infectious having you seeking scream pubs where ever you go. give it a try, you'll not believe you suvived without it. x

This used to be a good pub and they had a good group of regulars, some of whom have been going there throughout the pubs recent incarnations. Recently however, the locals are being discouraged to visit. The bitter beers (nitrokeg anyway!!) are being replaced by MORE lagers. This is just a student pub through and through, as are most of the pubs in town nowerdays. They have said that they make enough money from the students during term time not to have to worry about the lack of turnover during the holiday periods. Fair enough!!! There are far better places to drink in Coventry and I would suggest that anyone reading this makes the effort to find one!!!
