The Barmy Arms, Twickenham

What a let down! I was here this week with a couple of friends. It was not majorly busy in the bar with two people waiting to be served in front of me. I waited to be served while 4 people who walked in behind me got served first. Then the 'barman' who looked like he'd just got out of bed proceeded to serve the 5th person who walked in after me, the customer politely pointed out I had been waiting a while. When I placed my order the drinks were being given in plastic tumblers. When I asked if he had glassess he grumpily said "no, if I had them I'd be putting everyone's drink in them"! Oh, I'm sorry I thought this was a pub! Beer in a glass?, in a pub? how dare I ask! I and my friends promptly turned around and walked out. Such a shame that this pub is in such a state. It's in a great location and feature wise is quite nice, but this member of the staff and the other member of staff on that night- girl with the green hair (yes green hair) who also looked like she had just got out of bed, need to go to the school of manners and have some training.

The Jolly Coopers, Hampton

I like this pub!
Has some local regulars and you'll get a few looks when you first walk in but eveyone minds their own business and you get no hassle here. Always made to feel welcome by the landlord and the beer is well kept. Nice place to go of a weekday evening for a few quiet ones! Has a great character about it that you can't find in other pubs in Hampton. Recommend it!

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

First went in here when taken over, looked great and the food was great. In fact I may even have posted a comment about it on here at that time some months back.
However, went back here recently one evening with friends and the food much different. The sausages and mashed potato: sausage tasted like it was cheap and nasty from a supermarket value range and the mashed potato tasted like it had been microwaved. One friend had a burger and chips and both tasted dry and the burger was tough. Also the area we sat in was very cramped and far too small for the amount of tables in that part of the pub.
Was asked three times in 10 minutes if our food was okay, which caused us to be even more concerned, was afraid to say anything due to some of the locals who were glaring from the bar area!
I suppose you could ask what do you expect for the prices of the food here, but I may as well have just got the same food from the supermarket and cooked it at home, it would have been cheaper and less hassle!
