This is my local and i think it is great. Food is fantastic and I've always found the service very friendly and effiecient. Bar staff are welcoming. Not sure which "real" pub round the corner Anonymous went to but knowing what's around in this area all I can say is rather you than me!

The Vintry, St Albans
In George Orwell's 1984 there was a room, called Room 101, in which everyone came face to face with their worst nightmare, in St Albans there is a pub called the Vinty, that pretty much serves the same purpose!
