I booked a table for a Sunday evening, confirmed that they were open for food and had no entertainment on, even made specific request for a particular dish from their menu. When we arrived ( it was a birthday surprise) we were rudely told that they don't do food on Sunday evenings after 5pm ( I booked for 6.30) and never have, that there was a large notice outside that said exactly that ( I booked by telephone) My reservation. when he looked, was clearly written in their bookings register. We were not offered an apology, let alone a complimentary drink or compensation. Never again!

The Anchor Inn, Storrington
forgot my booking! when we got there, chef had gone home, no apology from landlord, not even a drink offered! Never again
