The Anchor Hotel, Warminster

Crap! Had to go home at 12.30am. Terrible noise from band and drunk deluded locals. Room had disgusting carpets, broken tv, broken towel rails and toilet seat, and was unbearably hot. Opening a window meant smoke filtered in from smokers who loitered outside the 'hotel'. Don't stay here!

The George Hotel, Henfield

This is apparently a four star hotel! The service is certainly not four star. When we arrived we were left ages waiting to check in and eventually told to come back 'sometime after 2'. Eventually when we did check in we were told our card details were being retained in case 'one of the towels went missing'. Nice trusting welcome! Then, to make matters worse, we were informed about a party in their function room directly behind our room which would go on until 12. We were not told about this when we booked 2 days previously. This would have prevented us booking there and, in my opinion, was quite deceitful. The party was loud and did annoy us. The landlady seems indifferent and a bit rude. I stay in the Lake District in 2 star guest houses at less than half the price and have a better experience. Don't stay here.
