King's Arms, Greenwich

I used to come here regularly, often to eat as well as drink. While the beer is still good and the staff are still friendly, sadly the pub has now been taken over by a large brewery company and the food has become truly terrible. I thought, from the menu, it had just gone a bit mass market, but when it arrived I was actually shocked. I had a lasagne which looked like a cheap corner shop own brand microwave meal for one, all bubbled on top and burnt and chewy at the corners for that 'just hurriedly microwaved at too high a setting' taste. My friend had sausage and 'mash' which was three sausages full of bone and gristle in a sea of gravy which completely hid a tiny blob of potato. I'm really not fussy with food - common as muck, me - but this was just cheap horrible rubbish. I'm very sad that I won't be eating at the King's Arms again and I'll have to find somewhere else now to take friends visiting me for a pub lunch. I got told by one of the staff that he'd stopped eating his lunch there. I'm not surprised.
