The Rose and Crown, Clapham

Finally got round to writing a review of this pub. Moved to London in September and this pub rapidly became my favourite: good beer (7 handpulls, with a view towards getting 2 more), very pleasant staff and landlord, and a decent clientele.

Don't agree with some people that it should do food. I think it'its character as a traditional boozer would be undermined if it became a foody place.

The Somerville Arms, Leamington Spa

I drank here for two years while a student at Warwick University. I was made to feel extremely welcome by the bar staff and the old school landlord, Paul. I liked it so much that I jacked in my job at the nearby 'spoons and worked at the Somerville until I graduated!

Apart from superb (and diverse) music nights, best point about this pub is that the clientele is remarkably mixed for a traditional ale pub; you're as likely to see a bunch of trendy students as you are a bearded real ale drinker. That's the mark of a proper pub!
