The Town Hall, Staines

Just had lunch at the Town Hall - took over forty minutes to get a steak bagette despite the pub being empty. Had to chase the staff to find out where my food had got to, which seemed to offend them greatly.

When it arrived, it was slammed down on the table without a word of apology or explaination why it was so late. (everyone else at my table had long since finished eating at this point).

I don't want to sound like a whinger, but everytime we've eaten there something has been wrong - one person's meal turning up half an hour later than the others, the wrong food turning up, or food turning up tasting funny. Quality of the food is hugely unpredictable from one week to the next, but the indifference of the staff remains constant.

There are loads of better places nearby for lunch - save yourself some grief.
