The Dog and Partridge, Tosside

Myself and 3 friends had booked a mountain bike skills course with Ed Oxley at Gisburn, The pub is used as a starting point to the day and for lunch too, we decided before hand it made sense to stay over to make a weekend of it. The pub is decorated in a rustic style, there is a cafe area and bike shop at the rear of the pub and guest accommodation too. Good locally produced ales are a bonus too. The pub is family run and has an informal atmosphere. The food is fantastic with generous portions of home cooking. Bar snacks are good value and very tasty, Evening meals are a little more sophisticated, and breakfast has convinced us all go go and stay again soon. Tim and Grace who run and own the pub are lovely hosts and everyone made us feel so welcome and treated us so well. I can't recommend this pub enough, and if you are a mountainbiker it offers a free bikewash and rooms tailored to a groups needs.
