Hobgoblin, Aylesbury

Much better than it used to be. Hit the headlines a few years ago following a shooting but thankfully, a much friendlier place now. They have some decent bands every so often and to the best of my recollection, the beer is pretty good too but I've usually had a skinful before I get there!

The Harrow, Aylesbury

Used to be two pubs many years ago - The Harrow and The Barleycorn. Was knocked into one pub and named The Harrow and Barleycorn. Was then re-branded and re-named The Farmyard and Firkin and has now reverted to the name The Harrow. Not a bad pub but service can be extremely slow when busy. The usual case of the regulars getting served out of turn. Often have guest ales which are kept and served well. Food hardly worth mentioning. Good bands every so often. Worth a visit.

The Bay View, Port St Mary

Stayed here for the TT last year and I had a good enough time that I've booked to stay here this year too. As Dave says - loads of characters and all very friendly. The Okells is in plenty supply and the locals drink like there's no tomorrow (I thought I could drink 'til I stayed here). Food is pretty good too.
