The Anglers, Teddington

Terrible�.terrible�.terrible�.
Had high hopes for this place, it looked nice, welcoming, and certainly big! But oh dear it�s such a let down.
Firstly, there was barely any food left � such a limited choice left (and it wasn�t late in the evening!)
The food itself � not good! Take for example the goat�s cheese salad with beetroot and squash � no squash. When this was queried � the girl went off to sort it out and never came back (when we did see her again, it was perched on a bar stool having a mobile phone conversation�)
The cheese and chutney sandwich, allegedly served on rustic bread. No, more like your bog standard cheap loaf � not acceptable! The cheese seemed processed and was too fine with not much flavour. The apple �on the side� was imaginatively presented as a whole apple with the bottom cut off.
The chicken with chorizo � mostly burnt!
Chips � taste was good but some were very hard in places.
There was an overload of green garnish on the plate of the steak � wilted and discoloured � not appetising.
Even when someone came to clear the plates, nothing was said by them � not even a �was everything ok?� comment, which probably because they were afraid of the answer. We did complain but it did no good. You do tend to be a bit stuck as you�ve already paid for it all beforehand.
The pub itself is nicely decorated and it has a nice feel. The garden is huge with plenty of seating but it�s all so uncared for. The tables, etc were filthy, bits of other meals left there, grafitti on a table near the bar (who actually does that in view and why??)
As for the toilets � well I recommend you only use them if desperate. I like the idea of the Belfast sinks, but everywhere again was dirty and they stank. The toilet in one of the cubicles was even coming off the wall slightly.
One plus point � the girl that served us with the original order was friendly � can�t comment for the rest, didn�t see that many.

Would we go there again � never, absolutely not. Suggest you avoid it, there are nicer places around!

Churchill Arms, Alderholt

Tip?!? You must have been in the wrong pub. Fantastic pub, great people, fabulous quality and quantity of food - 10/10
