The Mortimer Arms, Bloomsbury

Now changed appearance and name to Fitzrovia Belle.
Yet another attempt at a gastro pub with ludicrously over priced beer. 4.30 for a green and cloudy pint of Doombar!!!
I am not normally a price whinger but for Doombar? A 4% session beer they have got to be taking the piss.
This is one occaisional punter who will NOT return.

The Harp, Covent Garden

Since becoming free of tie this fantastic little pub has just got better and better. From the constantly changing range of local-ishly brewed real ales, always in peak condition, the range of real ciders and perries that would put many a small CAMRA beer festival to shame, to the excellently priced good quality sausages in a bun. What could make my new regular even better? Simples- the staff! It's a tiny pub with a phenomenal customer throughput, how 3 or 4 people work so closely, often serving two or more linters at a time is nothing short of an education and is certainly entertaining at times, not only does everyone get what they want quickly, efficiently and with a smile. They also know the stock, so if you're undecided you will be guided and offered a small taster.
The only thing that should put you off visiting is if you are claustrophobic, it gets very busy and rightly so, the alleyway to the rear and pavement out front make generous overflow space when needed especially in good weather anytime of year.
No I don't work for Binny, the landlady, but I think it's certainly up there and deserving of CAMRAs National Pub Of The Year!
Cheers all staff and customers
Wassail to the ciderheads

The Cwellyn Arms, Rhyd Ddu

A comment from an anonymous aquaintance:
the pub is run by a miserable bloke- hates locals, overcharges wildly for his beer - central London prices - but is always in the CAMRA book because they have their AGM there - free beer and dinner - funny that'

Apparently he had one lager on at nearly a fiver over christmas'

Doesn't give a monkey's - reckons he has enough customers faling off snowdon knackered and thirsty every day - doesn't need repeat business'
