I have witnessed, on a number of occasions, straight couples kissing and generally indulging in affectionate behaviour towards each other and not once have they been requested to stop by any member of staff on duty at the time. "citybarge" states, and I quote verbatim, "........the manager was put in a very difficult situation.........." and frankly that is rubbish. The manager has a duty to uphold the law in respect of extending equality towards all customers, regarding of race, sexuality inter alia and clearly failed miserably on this occasion.

The City Barge, Chiswick

On Sunday 22 February, a gay couple were asked to leave following, allegedly, complaints from 3 customers who objected to the couple kissing lightly. One wonders if the gay couple had complained about straight couples indulging in similar behaviour if this would have resulted in the same action being taken by the manager at this venue. I think not.
