The Crown and Anchor, Bromley

I went to the pub yesterday afternoon and it was abolutely packed.

The atmosphere was brilliant and the whole place was bright, airy, clean and tidy (it was a lovely change to see the staff regularly checking the toilets, which I need not say were spotless!) I had some home-made garlic bread which was fantastic (completely ruined my lunch by eating too much of it!) The staff were very friendly and seemed to always be smiling.

Fortunately, it was a fairly dry (although cold) day so the garden had quite a few families, and play things were provided for children, however the children had to leave by around 6.30ish, which I believe is fair enough.

The pub is non-smoking. A friend who I wnet with is a smoker, and she said how strange it was that after an hour, she was not even craving a cigarette, however when she did finally break (!) smoking was allowed out on the front patio and apparently in bad weather, you are allowed to smoke in the heated back garden, which is partially covered.

There is apparently live music every Monday evening and I overheard some customers talking about the homemade food, which sounded delicious, so I will definately return to sample to food and live entertainment, and then re-review it for all you eager pub-goers out there!

(& with regard to the comments of the previous reviewer, they now have second real ale pump!)
