The Chelsea Ram, Chelsea
Just opened after a refurb by the new management team (Geronimo).
Decor. Laura Ashley circa 1993. In a word, horrible.
Staff. New manager has all the charm and people skills of a Latin American staff torturer.
Beer. No longer doing Ramrod in bottles. Young's bitter and guest ales in very bad condition.
Atmosphere: Awful. Staff have gone from happy and relaxed to stressed and taciturn (mainly due to the overly aggressive shrew who is now running the place).
Food: I wouldn't know. Myself and wife and child were turned away on the first evening due to lack of covers.
It's an awful thing when your local gets ruined. The Chelsea Ram has gone from being a quirky mixture of local boozer and gastro-pub to being a bland, mercenary chain pub. After 12 years as a regular I shall be voting with my feet.
