The Bell Inn, Ramsbury

Although one cannot fault the excellent local Ramsbury beers I found the atmoshphere of the pub a bit souless. The contemporary decor suggested a restaurant rather than a pub. Visit for the Beer not the Art.

The Jolly Anglers, Reading

Just been informed that the pub has closed again! My source informs me that

"Bad news I'm afraid.The Jolly Anglers closed last night.John 'was only told at 1430' yesterday.Apparently Enterprise Inns have sold it on 'for residential development'. I only found out last night at 1030 and went down to the closing down party - all beer �1 per pint.There was as you can imagine a lot of p****d up p****d off people there."

Sad days...

The Fishermans Cottage, Reading

New people and a fresh coat of paint. Opened over the Easter weekend but stood in the shadows of The Angler�s Arms with their excellent beer Festival. Proper review of the �Fish� next week.
