New Inn, Hook

Nice enough character pub, with open fires, if you just want a drink, but I wouldn't bother with the food - uninteresting and bland, in fact quite forgettable. Oh, and the landlord has no concern for his customers' safety or convenience - he doesn't bother to clear any of the snow or ice from his steps or outside entrance. Certainly no place to take elderly or infirm in bad weather conditions!

Certainly wouldn't recommend this pub. Lovely interior, but disastrous meal. We took friends out for lunch, and the food was bland, uninteresting, poor quality, vegetables were raw, and the chef knew nothing about presentation - we will not be returning. I suppose the alarm bells should have rung, when we did a 'reccy' the previous night, and there was only one couple eating. There were only two tables of two occupied, when we had our lunch on the Friday. Do they not wonder why nobody eats there? My husband did complain profusely to the manager, who removed all food from the bill, but it was embarrassing, when we had taken our friends out for a treat!
