The Commodore Hotel, Bournemouth

The other reviews seem to be generally pretty negative. Personally I have no complaints. The staff were friendly and attentive and the beer was fine. A damn sight better than the "Spyglass & Kettle" (or whatever it's called) just down the road.

The Spyglass and Kettle, Southbourne

Waited with a friend at the bar for about 10 minutes. It was obvious that we were waiting to get served but we were totally ignored and the pub wasn't particularly busy at the time. Solution ... we went down the road a little to the "Commodore". The moment we walked in we were spotted by a young barmaid who approached us with a smile and asked what we would like. Now that's what I call service. The Abbot's real ale was superb, so we had two or three. Enough said ......
