The Ship and Whale, Rotherhithe

This pub is absolutely fantastic. Despite living relatively close by I hadn't been up until a couple of months ago.

A colleague of mine invited me along to a quiz one Wednesday with a number of her friends, I had one of the most fun times i've had in a very long time. The quiz master is the owner, John, who is witty, funny and occasionally a little bit crude, but all in good fun. The co-owner, Basia, is also a scream... especially after a couple of shots of vodka!

I have been back on many occasions since then and i've eaten there every time. The food is great, with a variety of specials and offers. I've recommended it to so many of my local friends,a couple of international ones and now to you. Go! There are various things going on throughout the week, including the quiz and poker!

What I love about it is If you're not into quizzes or any of the other things the bar puts on, they always shut an area off for those that want intimate time to themselves. It's so accommodating and friendly.

If you're reading this and are planning to go, please do. It's the best pub in SE16 and probably further afield.
