Lovely pub with some of the most reasonable drink prices in the area - �2.85 a pint for Stella!

And slugbreff - People like you have forced us to go outside to smoke, please don't try to stop us smoking there as well. The smoking area at The Squirrel is tiny, if the smell of smoke offends your precious little nostrils, go sit on the other side of the pub.

The Marlborough House, Oxford

Gutted to hear that this place has closed down - unfortunately, it provides evn more evidence of why breweries should never put their pubs into the hands of a holding company.

I managed this place for 6 months in 2006. I was expected to work 90+ hours a week for the sort of wages you'd expect for working part-time, and then I had to pay any staff I employed myself!

They wouldn't even allow me to take �20 from petty cash to buy a vacuum cleaner...

I've seen it happen to so many pubs, the holding company moves in and runs it into the ground :(

Crobar, Soho

Dirty, grotty, has the kind of toilets you should only enter if you remembered to pack your chemical warfare stuff...

but

This is quite probably the coolest bar on my 'all time coolest bars of all time' list...

I love it! only discovered the place 2 weeks ago, but I've made the 1 hour journey up to town every time I've had a night off since.

They also don't give a flying you-know-what if you're drunk, as long as you behave yourself ;)
