Seven Stars Inn, Robertsbridge

This pub has had a total refurb since we last visited late in 2008, and we felt it worked for the better as the was no need for locals to be squeezing through the diners to go for a ciggie. The young barman did direct our attention to the new bar and was very eager to please, and did inform us it was one of the only establishments open in the village and the only one serving food on a Monday Night which seemed amazing, but commonplace as the most of the tables around us were filled.

As we sat and ate, the menu had vastly changed and had more of a pub friendly food feel. Although the kitchen service was slow, the young kitchen girl was polite, with the barman helping out where he could. Steak was cooked perfectly, and Hunter's Chicken was lovely, even though we required a brief description of what a hunter's chicken was!

Wine choice was limited to two top selling "drinkable" white wines, Pinot Grigio and Sav Blanc.
One simple Merlot and one simple Rose.
Harveys was excellent, well kept and worthy of the (out of date) Cask Marque Award.

All in all, we had a very enjoyable evening with delicious food at a very resonable price, in a country pub that has seeming lost it's football support!
