Wish I had read the previous comments and avoided the lamb shank. Obviously the plonk it on school of food preparation. The Apple Crumble dessert was barely cooked and horrible. Award winning you cannot be serious!

The Monsal Head Hotel, Monsal Head
Their 'Undertaker' brew was very acceptable and seemed to be very popular. Change from a fiver for a pint and a half also met with our approval. No need to remove walking boots another plus or plenty of room to sit outside
Pleasant helpful staff and a roaring fire. 'Mary Rose' brew was also another hit. Promoting local ales, must be a good thing.
