Oh dear, what a shame. since about last summer the food here has been equal to the excellent ales (very well kept) and friendly and relaxed atmosphere. No more.

Having been told last visit that the terrible food was a glitch, we tried again. As we visited at about 1pm on a Sunday lunchtime, my partner went for a traditional roast, which should be quite hard to do badly (although not easy to do in an outstanding way). Roasties were nasty, meat was cold. I had duck. God only knows how it was cooked, but definately had not seen the inside of an oven, disgusting.

Still an excellent venue for a good pint, or to socialise with friends, but if you are looking for good food, you might be better off at Burger King

The Tigers Head, Chislehurst

Went in for a meal last Thursday (18 March 2010) and my meal wasn't all that good.
However, having been told this was due to a few glitches as a new chef had taken over and was overhauling the kitchen and bringing into line with the michellin star establishment he had come from (having been head hunted) I will be back to see if this works.
All previous visitis in the last year have been met with food of an excellent standard, ales that were exceptionally well kept, and very friendly bar staff.
my rating is based on previous visits, as the food this time would have got a 1.
