Very busy but nicely buzzy on a Saturday night, lots of nice customers. The fish and chips were great! The best pub we've found locally yet. Good work!

The Tuckers Arms, Axminster

My girlfriend loved this place but I was disappointed. Yet another local pub where they've ditched the sense of being a pub to become a restaurant which has a little side section for the locals to drink in. Okay, they're making money from the weekenders and from serving pricey food but what about the people that live there? When we turned up they sniffily declared that even if we wanted to eat in the bar that our orders would be quite delayed - that's fair enough, thanks for telling us, but I did feel a bit 'second-class' because we hadn't booked. We were paying the same price BTW. The food? Okay, but just okay. If you're charging �13 for a fish-pie it should be good, and this was so-so - the vegetables were the best thing and that wasn't what I was paying �13 for! Has aspirations to be good, but it thinks that it's better than it actually is.
