Swann Inn, Newtown

Last night we visited to The Swan since the recent major refurbishment.

WOW. The pub looks fantastic. We spent the first ten minutes wondering around trying to work out what use to be were. There is now a large heated patio to the front and the garden is as beautiful as before, but with a new patio and a less rickety bridge crossing the stream!

The food � I think it was called a tapas board to share for starters. Very good and just enough for me and mrs picky. Mains was venison steak and fish pie. Finished off with crumble and chocolate fondant.

The service � excellent. The young lady could not have been more helpful and talked us through the menus and specials in just the right detail.

Regret � have waited until now to go back to the Swan. Already thinking about booking for this coming Sunday.

I guess that some will not like the changes at the Swan, but we could not fault it.
