The White Horse, Welton

I read with dismay the comments about the efforts that are being made by the landlady and all involved at trying to keep the village pub open. The fact that they have had these music festivals (that are fully licensed, authorised by the police and the courts) has meant that they had the revenue to carry on with the failing repair work from the previous owners, to hopefully attract more newcomers into the village and save yet another village pub from closing. The comment made about the villagers not being asked their views on these occasions, well i'm sorry but the days of the 'peasants asking the squire for his permission' has well and truly died out, or so i thought. I have been to most of these events and to be honest with you there are not many of the villagers that you dont see there, so maybe the few that like to moan should try and do what most villages ask of their communities, SUPPORT WHAT YOU HAVE GOT BEFORE YOU LOSE IT
