Rob Roy, Paddington

The Rob Roy, one of London's few (I think possibly ONLY) remaining Scottish pub, has undergone a huge transformation since the new management took over sometime in late 2009. The place is genuinely Scottish (the bar was being propped up with a load of funny Scots guys and gals) and genuinely friendly (the manager keeps the jokes and banter flowing), it was busy and bustling when I visited for the 6 Nations rugby matches last Saturday.
A nice big Scotland flag hangs proudly in the corner, while classic Scotland football memorabilia, a Scottish lion rampant scarf, and old pubs signs from Edinburgh and Glasgow breweries adorn the rest of the main bar area giving the pub a genuine 'home from home' character for London-based Scots and the Scottish diaspora. But other nationalities were made more than welcome too on my last visit there.
They pour a nice pint of Guiness, while the north of the border nod comes in the form of Deuchars IPA, which is always welcome too.
Definitely recommended, and when Scotland are playing at football or rugby it's the only place in the Capital to be!
