More of a beer festival than a pub, but on balance that is probably a good thing.

A very well run pub with a good garden. The bar is a bit pokey (there's not much that can be done about that or the regulars with dust on their shoulders), but probably one of the best pubs in the Cheltenham area.

The Bald Faced Stag, East Finchley
If you are only comfortable in a pub where your feet stick to the carpet this is not the place for you. Its was indeed brought blinking into the light of its potential a few years ago. Never too busy, staff who know where the money comes from, always good ale options and great food if you get drunk enough to think you can afford it. It remains my benchmark for a great pub.
