The Brewery Bar, Botley

I've been using this pub on and off since the 80s. The young couple who run it now are doing a great job. There's usually three real ales on and the food, cooked by the landlord is top notch.

There is regular entertainment and a flat screen TV but if you want silence and beer straight out of barrels, jump in the Tardis and go back 20 years.

You can't make a living running small pubs like that these days.

The Barleycorn, Hedge End

A rare occasion today. I walked out of the place. Stood for ten minutes while pushy locals were served before me (I was there first), and they are no offering cheap food, but apparently with no more staff, so those that are there are now trying to run a pub and a busy kitchen.

I didn't need a pint as badly as some of the others it seems!
