The Harrow, Hadlow

i have been going to this what was " great pub/restaurant since i was a little girl with my parents, new people have taken over, i went to buy my new years eve tickets for my familywhen i spent hundreds of pounds for this event i stayed for a glass with a friend.... unfortunatley the land ladys husband was completly drunk and started shouting "enjoyin your drink are ya!" so i tunrt round and though i'd be polite and said " yes thankyou" he then started shouting at me "well you can put your drink down, and get out!" i said i'm sorry?"i dont understand, i have just brought new yrs eve tickets as well!" he got in my face and agressively said "YEAH?! WELL YOU CAN HAVE A REFUND ON THEM AS WELL!" I said "but my children will be devastated, he then called over the bar maid (at this point i was wanting to cry as i felt bullied) he then turnt round and said Children? i said yes! he then said "well we dont take to kindly for kids in this pub any way!" (they have a play area out side!!!) with that the land lady pulled me to one side and asked what was going on i said "not a clue i was not even talking to him he just started shouting at me ... i feel so embarrassed in front of the other customers. she said he is half deaf (no excuse!!!) i asked for a refund she said "no no he's just drunk, he'll forget it ever happened in the morning!" i said "no i want a refund now please she obliged as she new i was in the right!!! i would never want to take my children there ever. the land lady's husband is very revolting is huge and looks dirty (reminded me of that big over wieght thing off star wars - not what you want to be looking at when your dining. good luck to all that visit you'll need it! we have since wrote to shephard neame about the bad way i was treated! thanks Harrow for destroying everything! my memories of coming up there when litlle and mine and my kids plan over xmas!
