The Old Queens Head, Islington

Got refused at the door by an ignorant doorman who said "mixed couples only". Since I was out with my brother and seeking a simple pint this was upsetting. You should avoid this pub at all costs on the basis of that pathetic door policy.

Bourne and Hollingsworth, Fitzrovia

Great little pub two minutes from Oxford Street. One beer on draught, fine gin on the shelf and many a live band on offer its definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park

Nice bar but lacking a decent selection of beers and spirits (eg no duvel or Hendricks). Good fun and nice atmosphere allround though.
