Foresters, Hampton Wick

Now Hampton Wick's venue of choice for anything from a swift after-worker to the full meal and a bottle. Exciting menu, great selection of wines and friendly, attentive staff to look after you. Well-kept beer (Black Sheep and Pride), though I'd like to see the Lowenbrau back for those lager days.

Seems that there can only be one great pub in The Wick at any one time. Years ago, The Foresters and the White Hart used to battle it out. The Swan had its day as, until recently, did The Lion. Now look no further than The Foresters!

The Watermans Arms, Brentford

Much better now it's been smartened up a bit. Still has a good traditional feel to it and well kept beer.

The menu's an interesting mix of English Pub food and Oriental. We ordered bangers and mash and something we couldn't pronounce with chicken and eggs -both very good and arrived quickly.

There's a sunny courtyard with lots of tables out the back (which we didn't notice until the pit-stop before we left) -I wish we'd seen it earlier!
