Profile information

My interest in pubs is two-fold:

1. I like beer

2. I'm a sword dancer (see www.rapper.org.uk), and this is most suited to being performed in decent pubs. With good beer. And wooden floors.

And so any reviews I give may be coloured by the state of the floor and the likelihood of the landlord to let us dance.

The Babbity Bowster, Glasgow

Ridiculously over-priced! The beer was reasonably well-kept, but at 8 for two pints (one a lager) I can't recommend the place any more.

As to the "no hand pump" comments, I believe these are electrically-pumped real ale, so not keg.

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

Had a couple of pints in there last night, neither of them being on top form. Unlucky choice, or is this a sign that being reviewed in the Telegraph spells the end for any pub? :-)

The Pot Still, Glasgow

The whisky is as extensive as ever, and the prices are still on the outrageous side. The beer last night was OK, but not as good as normal. Still, it was a quiet haven in a town otherwise mobbed by football-kit-wearing lads out to watch Scotland play Lichtenstein. A welcome oasis, as ever.
