The White Hart, Flitton

I found this place on Google Earth looking for a quiet-looking village pub in the Shefford area that might do food. My wife and I went there on a Saturday evening; the place was quite full, including the bar, which we prefer. The bar is separate from the restaurant. The food was excellent and suitably priced and you can order wine by the glass from most of the bottles on offer at sensible prices. If you like steak the way the French do it then order steak! Mine was superb. Their cappuccino was so good I had another one! The staff were all friendly.

This is not a traditional village pub and does not pretend to be. The romance of a traditional village pub is alive but the pubs themselves are becoming more rare these days given supermarket competition and significant change in domestic culture. And a change in products. 'hatter90's review does not appreciate these. I find it amusing that a fan of tradition and the village pub posts a review on a worldwide, state-of-the-art noticeboard.
