Lewes Arms, Lewes

I love the Lewes Arms. I am a foreigner by birth, and for me it encompasses the best of British pubs: no piped music. Passionate local following, no piped music, never been 'done up', nicoteen-stained ceilings, small seperate bars, open fire, historic location, and of course local beer - up till now, when Greene King ruined it. I went in today, not knowing that Harvey's brew had been stopped: it was EMPTY! Only five customers apart from me. As I was meeting a friend, I decided to stay and have a glass of wine - beer felt too much of a betrayal! Please, please, please, allow us to have our local beer here and save the pub. The Lewes Arms has always been 'my pub', and I will be very sad not to be able to go there, but I will now boycott it because I want to save it.
