The Cidershed, Norwich

Called lunchtime in early March to a friendly welcome from the bar lady.
Then we shivered for a couple of hours in a spartan kind of tractor shed sipping ale served way too cold. I've been more comfortable in a bus shelter.

The Red Lion Hotel, Cromer

Excellent food & drink served efficiently by attractive young staff at Xmas time. But what have they done to the place?
The discrete panelled booths in the bar have gone: the intimate dining compartments have vanished and any opportunity of lounging on a comfy banquette has been withdrawn.
Oh lordy, the puritans have arrived!

The Ribs of Beef, Norwich

We were confronted by a barrage of televisions screening "The Football", from every nook and cranny. It appeared more of a social club for tv addicts rather than a pub. So we crossed the road to the bar opposite: comfy seats, mixed crowd and no compulsory telly. Thank God for Wetherspoon when in Norwich.
