Millers, Caledonian Road

Having newly moved residence closeby we felt that this derelict looking place needed a review. This and nearby Flying Scotsman(same owner?)are the WORST in the area.Frequented by smokestained old lags, local chavs and undeoderized brickies you can nearly see the yellowish stain float through the air like a cartoon fart. The manager.is a scruffy looking nervous type, constantly picking his nose and regularly surrenders control of the pub to whatever gangs of marauding footiethugs happen by.The barmaids are all"innit!eyebeefa!wotevah!am I bovvered?"types, beerbellies and hairy underarms.Ask for any drink more complicated than an alcopop and all that you recieve is a stare of complete confusion and back to doing nails, reading paper or glaring enviously at other women. You need to check your change and card bills. The lager here is very flat and will go through you faster than sunlight through glass. The food is more to die from than die for.Chefs never stay long I was informed. The toilets are gobstained, smelly and definitely have swamp creatures lurking. The flies rule.I was also informed by an old regular lag Bernie that the owner Pat let the cellar get so bad the dreymen refused to deliver any beer and reported the place to the council.Nice.There reputedly has been a squat upstairs for ages and looking around the bar there are definitely some hairy likely types. Not the type of place to bring the inlaws then. The music is far too loud and the selection is a testament to terrible bad taste. There are far classier bars nearby. This establishment is like a very poorly managed ONeills on the Chatsworth Estate.Substandard.

The Lincoln Lounge, Kings Cross

Fantastic little boozer with one of the best barmaids around from Limerick.Never have to wait too long for service when this sharp lady is on duty. Can get busy at weekends and music is pretty cool.Excellent pre-bar for nearby Egg.Prices good but a wider selection of lagers would be very welcome.Top.

The Rose and Crown, Orpington

Sold to Youngs Brewery? That will give Colin even more time for sitting on the footpath and dangling his legs over the side. Its all the Guv ever did.
