The White Lion, St Albans

Spent a happy couple of hours in the LIon tonight. Fairly quiet, but then what pub isn't on a Monday night these days. A good selection of beer, including Titanic Chocolate and Vanilla Stout, which, if had tasted as good as it smelt, would have been reason enough to go there on its own. There is a three-legged dog, a one-eyed cock in the garden and expertise in the Den on tap. Wit and wittery in equal measure. Dave the landlord is normaly found slaving in the kitchen but was to be found at front of the bar tonight. A little under the weather, I agreed to see him next Tuesday.
