OK, went back after the refurb the other day. thought we might just have a quiet one and watch some sports.

Seems most of the TV's are now tuned to MTV.
The interior looks like Justin & whats-his-name? were let loose on it, Bloody awful! the carpet is LOUD, bright red/brown, maybe its to hide the spilt beer? who knows.
The wallpaper .... OMG what happened, someone cut up one of my dads old 70's shirts and glued it to the wall .... PUKE!

There were four of us, we ordered three meals, one desert and some garlic bread to start.
The desert cam out first, about 5 minutes later some cheesy garlic bread arrived which was OK but covered in far too much cheese.
Then the meals started arriving.
My mate had a mixed grill, dont be mislead by the menu, where it pluralises the words (i.e. sausages) dont expect more than one, and a small one at that.
I had the sirloin, which was the best bit of the whole meal, a little over cooked, but you have to expect that in the UK, they dont understand Medium rare
The accompaniments were a let down, a small handful of chips a tablespoon of peas and some other bits and pieces . Very stingy

The last plate to arrive (We have no idea why) was my wives chicken salad, it arrived as a Cesar salad, so we had it sent back (being that she is allergic to the egg whites used in Cesar dressing),
The waitress was very polite and apologised and sent it back, then we made sure she know they had to give it new chicken (not just clean off the old chicken and re-heat it) so she made sure the chef knew how that my wife was allergic to the dressing.

The replacement arrived quite quickly only to have no dressing what so ever!, not even some balsamic vinegar, so we had to complain yet again to get some vinegar for the salad.

To be honest the whole menu is quite boring, everything has become a 2 for 1 deal, and we think they have raised the plate prices slightly to compensate for this.

Unfortunately for such a conveniently located pub, with so much potential, I regretfully have to do an about turn on my previous endorsement.

From now on I can only recommend you go here if you want to get drunk & watch sports!

There is one plus side the outside looks really nice ... which is a good thing as its the most I'll be seeing of this pub in a while!
(Except to watch a major sporting event)

If you want a quintessential english pub with an old balding fat git behind the bar cracking jokes between pulling pints of london pride & serving your prawn flavoured, DONT COME HERE!.

This place is a sports bar, and one of my locals.
The food is average (no worse than a weatherspoons), and you can order you larger in a jug.
But it's comfortable, hang out there when a soccer game is not on and its actually quite civilised.

We have enjoyed many an evening with friends at this pub having a few quiet ones while lounging on the couches.
Brilliant place to come watch your favorite team (I watched most of last years successful Lions tour in there!)

But like I said its a sports bar, and it meets all teh criteria you need in a sports bar (lots of TV's, Lots of different sports playing in different areas, and beer).

If you dont want a sports bar, dont bother coming!
