The Bell, Horndon-on-the-Hill

If you want a nice cosy night out to a traditional pub then this is the place to be. The bell is a coaching inn with wooden beams and an open fire place. There is not a slot machine or pool table in sight.
The food is very special and nothing like boring pub grub. A nice starter would set you back 10 but well worth it.
There is a beer garden which is lovely in summer overlooking countryside views. I reccommend anyone that likes traditional pubs and good food to go to the Bell. They have a line of hot cross buns hanging from one of the wooden beams that someone puts up each year. Dates back to about 1900's.

The Dukes Head, Little Burstead

The Dukes Head,

At last we found a pub that has not a chav in sight.
I really love this pub and have had some great times up there. When our friends come to stay we always go to the DH as the atmosphere is so warming and the staff are great. The food (although it is chain food) is really lovely, big helpings and always nicely cooked. I really cannot fault this pub and I would reccommend anyone to go there for a drink and some food. It's lovely to sit out the front on a summers eve and watch the wildlife in the pond which is outside the pub. I think that the person who wrote the above message must of gone there on an odd day. I have been there many times and have NEVER been dissapointed.
Many thanks to the lovely staff.
