The White Lion, Warlingham

Having dined in this pub in the past I thought it would be a nice treat for family who were visiting to have a lovely Sunday Roast in this quirky pub.

The beer is well kept with a good selection but locals take priority in order of service.

The Sunday Roast - Terrible! Dry as a bone, black potatoes & a small portion of hardly edible meat although the desserts were ok. Our waiter was very pleasant & attentive. Pity about the Manger who was rather officious & inconvenienced when I asked if she would close the door to the beer garden as the locals like to smoke at the door with it open. That's ok if you don't mind eating in a room that reeks of cigarette smoke.

Not how I remeber it on previous occasions so what a disappointment. We wont be eating in here again!

The Sir Julian Huxley, Selsdon

My wife and I had the miss fortune of having lunch in here this week. I was served by the new duty Manager, no smile or acknowledgement from him that I had actually ordered drinks. On buying the second round (Again no acknowledgement) he multi-tasked by looking the other way, talking to someone else whilst serving me. My wife got the same treatment when ordering the food. How rude!

The food. Some important ingredients were missing but it was served up anyway and the salad looked like it should have been thrown away days ago.

On the guest beer front if you want a pint of ''Available Soon'' this is the place for you.

Not all bad though, there are some new chairs!

The Woodman, South Croydon

I agree with cowabunga. Went in there recently with my family, I had to ask the bar maid if it was open as there were no lights on. Small group of nicely dressed 1980s ghosts at the end of the bar though and oh, I do like 80s music, but not cloudy London Pride! Perhaps they were waiting to fire up the Quattro. I decided to sit in the beer garden. It was as if the crew had left the ship. What a shame.
