Cheshire Lines Inn, Southport

Had lunch there today (my first visit) and was impressed. Good pint of dark beer (sorry didn't note the name) and the management/bar staff very friendly and efficient The beef stew was excellent and for the first time in a long while I couldn't finish it there was so much - and the home made chips were really good (definitely not the all too common oven chips). Yes there were a lot of old people in there but they were enjoying themselves and it is obviously a comfortable place for them to meet and have a meal and drink. Don't know what it's like at night but I'd definitely go back for lunch next time I'm in Southport
