The Curzon Arms, Woodhouse Eaves
The new owners and staff are very friendly. The pub is nicely decorated without being poncy, and children are made very welcome. This does make a refreshing change from some of the pubs in the area, who give the impression that small people should be left outside!!! Food is wholesome and well cooked. Scampi in the basket was well received, the tartare sauce was great. Fishcakes were lovely, the accompanying salad was fresh and crisp. Not a wilting lettuce leaf in sight. My only criticism was that the bread with the Camembert, a starter and also tasty was too large and chunky. Perhaps a crusty French baguette would have been better. I was part of a table of 9 and we all enjoyed the experience. I would definitely return.
