The Eight Bells, Dover

Everyone bashes 'Spoons houses, and I freely admit, with often very good reason! However, it is the beer that is the most important factor and to be fair, it's not bad here. Naturally it doesn't compensate for the shite surroundings, the chavvy scum that frequent the place who are usually pissed by 1pm and the dreary atmos. that pervades the place. Still, we all know what to expect from these places.

Prince Of Wales, Covent Garden

I was in this pub a few months ago. The decor wasn't bad and the barmaid was quick and attentive. So far so good. The only thing that lets this place down is the overpriced shite beer, a pint of Landlord at �3.44 that was truly cack, got a couple of mouthfuls down and had to leave it before I regurgitated said mouthfuls over the bar. My friend and I didn't even bother to complain as, having read other reviews previously, that would have got us nowhere fast. Go to the O'Neills or Hercules Pillars if you want a decent pint. If you like drinking the contents of a horse trough this is for you.
