The Famous Cock Tavern, Islington

Me and some friends are cruising around places we visited pre-web. I worked at the Cock in 1987 (it wasn't famous then, and I can't figure what made it famous since) Me and a high school buddy landed there shortly after a change in management (we're Americans). We listened to the regulars lament the loss of the previous manager which happened just weeks before we got there...the guy we worked for was a real jerk. But back then it was a great neighborhood pub. The most famous thing that happened to us was Robert Plant was recording down the street and I got to serve him drinks a couple of times. Even though the guy I worked for was a jerk, I still had a great time. We lived above the pub and worked 5 1/2 days a week...but the regulars (mostly working class Irish) made it worth every minute.
